This renovation consisted of gutting the kitchen, master bathroom, and guest bathroom. The only thing we kept was the existing red oak hardwood floors in the downstairs space. They did not go untouched though, they were bleached and refinished with a matte top coat. For the kitchen, after gutting, we added full floor to ceiling, walnut, matte finished, cabinetry, per Ali Swidler’s designs. This added a ton of storage space. On the island, we used Cle tile, caviar colored paint, quartz countertops, and an appliance garage. On the walnut theme, we added a walnut banquette, walnut stair railing, and a walnut bookshelf. In the downstairs bathroom, we did a tub to shower conversion, subway tile, white oak cabinetry, marble countertops, and brass fixtures. Finally, in the upstairs bathroom, we added a curbless shower, a freestanding tub, more walnut cabinetry, push latch hardware, marble countertops, and a fresh coat of white paint.
