Our Skelly Build Bouldin Creek Kitchen renovation set out to reshape how the heart of this amazing Bouldin Creek home functioned day to day. While the house already carried strong character, the kitchen, pantry, and mud room no longer supported the way the homeowners lived. The spaces felt disconnected and inefficient, and so our renovation focused on creating better flow, more storage, and a layout that felt intuitive and more welcoming!

Our project began with a full gut of the kitchen and adjoining spaces. Our team removed outdated cabinetry, appliances, lighting, and select sections of walls that restricted movement and sightlines. By opening up these areas, the renovation created stronger visual connections between rooms while preserving the parts of the home that didn’t require change. This early work laid the groundwork for a more open and functional plan.

Refinishing the existing wood floors helped anchor the transformation. The refreshed wood now runs continuously through the kitchen and living areas, bringing warmth back into the space and tying the renovation seamlessly to the rest of the home. In contrast, the pantry and mud room received new “brick” tile flooring chosen for durability and easy maintenance. These materials allow the supporting spaces to handle daily wear while still contributing to the overall kitchen design.

The redesigned kitchen centers on custom Shaker cabinetry (painted Benjamin Moore, Revere Pewter) that feels intentional and built-in. Panel-ready appliances allow the millwork to remain the visual focus, keeping the room calm and cohesive. Storage solutions support everyday cooking and entertaining, with thoughtful layouts that make the space feel efficient without feeling crowded. Calacatta marble countertops provide a clean, durable surface that balances the warmth of the wood floors and cabinetry, grounding the kitchen as both a workspace and gathering place.

Lighting played a key role in reshaping the experience of the space. Recessed lighting provides consistent, functional illumination, while decorative pendants add character and softness. Large windows pull natural light into the kitchen, brightening the room throughout the day and changing the mood as the light shifts. Integrated pop-up outlets keep modern conveniences accessible without disrupting clean lines or visual flow.

The mud room became an essential part of the renovation rather than an afterthought. Designed to handle daily comings and goings, the space now offers practical storage and durable finishes that support real life. Tile flooring stands up to foot traffic, while the layout keeps clutter contained and transitions clean. Positioned near the kitchen, the mud room now works in tandem with the rest of the home, supporting routines without interrupting them.

By refining door openings and transitions between the kitchen, pantry, and mud room, our team improved circulation and made movement through the home feel natural and effortless. Each adjustment focused on how the homeowners actually use the space, ensuring the finished layout feels comfortable and intuitive.

The completed Bouldin Creek Kitchen renovation delivers more than a visual upgrade. It creates a home that functions better every day, with a kitchen that invites gathering, a pantry that supports organization, and a mud room that keeps life running smoothly behind the scenes! Thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, and attention to daily habits turned these connected spaces into a cohesive, hardworking heart of the home.
