This time, we collaborated with the visionary owner of Arco Blow Dry and Nail Bar, who had a brilliantly simple idea: to transform an empty commercial space into a haven tailored specifically for brides-to-be.
Imagine a bride preparing for her big day without the need to shuttle between different salons for hair, nails, and makeup. Arco’s concept was to bring everything essential for that picture-perfect wedding day look under one roof. From a luxurious blowout bar to meticulously crafted mani/pedi stations, every detail of this space was designed to make her special day truly unforgettable. Let’s check out the completed project!
Framing the Perfect Experience
Our framing team played a key role in shaping this salon haven:
- We framed elegant arched hallway openings, setting the tone for a luxurious experience.
- Nooks were crafted specifically for shampoo centers, ensuring relaxation as clients prepare for their transformations.
- A pedicure platform was built to provide the perfect setting for pampering brides and bridal parties alike.
Plumbing for Comfort and Convenience
Water plays a significant role in salon services, and we made sure the plumbing met the demands of Arco’s unique vision:
- Water and drain lines were run to new pedicure and shampoo stations.
- Bathroom plumbing was updated with a fixture swap to keep the room functional without major disruption.
- Pedicure sinks and back-room sink areas were equipped with faucets, P traps, and angle stops.
- A new water heater, hair trap for the shampoo station, and hot water circulation pump ensured a seamless flow of water for busy bridal prep days.
Lighting and Electrical for Every Detail
To bring out the best in every bride, lighting is essential. Our electrical work ensured both ambiance and functionality:
- Pendant lights were installed over the reception area and styling stations, providing a soft glow that complements any look.
- LED troffers and sconces added bright, even lighting across the salon, perfect for hairstyling, makeup, and nail services.
- Electrical outlets and GFCI upgrades were made to support hairdryers, straighteners, and other styling tools at each station.
- Dedicated circuits were installed for high-energy appliances like fridges and microwaves, ensuring uninterrupted service.
HVAC and Ventilation: Cool and Comfortable
No bride should have to worry about overheating while getting ready. We installed a new AC unit and updated ductwork to improve airflow throughout the salon:
- Spiral rigid ducting was added to the existing system, enhancing airflow.
- Fresh air units and bath fans were installed for optimal ventilation in all service areas.
Seamless Drywall and Smooth Finishes
Our drywall team ensured every surface was polished and flawless:
- We hung, taped, and floated the drywall, applying a smooth coat for a sleek, modern look.
- The newly framed arched openings were wrapped in drywall, enhancing the elegant, flowing design of the space.
Gorgeous Custom Features
One of the highlights of this remodel was the custom cabinetry:
- Adjustable shelving with open brackets was installed for both function and beauty.
- A custom-built pedicure station and plywood bench were stained and finished, providing a luxurious space for bridal pampering.
Final Touches: Paint, Trim, and Finishing Work
To bring the salon’s vision together, our team focused on the final touches:
- The ceiling and walls were painted with Sherwin Williams products, giving the salon a fresh, high-quality finish.
- Standard baseboard and door trims were installed, and we added signage, mirrors, and curtain rods for a polished look.
- Our team even handled critical fire protection updates, including sprinklers and fire extinguishers, to ensure safety and compliance.
Project Management and Site Prep
Throughout this renovation, we took care to protect the existing flooring, ensure cleanliness, and manage equipment rentals, such as scissor lifts and cranes for the installation of HVAC units. Our project management team worked diligently to keep the project on time and within budget, with on-site supervision ensuring every detail was handled with care.
