One of the biggest game changers in the master bath was the addition of a skylight installed directly above the vanity area. This allows for abundant natural light and contributes to the organic feel of this bathroom. Other unique features include: stained shelves for towel storage that are integrated into the paint grade vanity, a peekaboo window installed in the shower for additional light, and no glass on the shower door. Rather, the homeowners chose an open style shower that ventilates air in and out. Check out the build out of the shower below: Throughout this renovation, the homeowners really wanted the materials to speak for themselves. For example, the homeowners loved the warmth of the handmade terracotta tile in the master bath, including all the natural imperfections/colors that come along with it. The secondary bath was also entirely gutted and redone. The location of the plumbing was moved to create a better design for both the placement of the toilet & the vanity. All new electrical, paint, vanity, fixtures and tile were installed as well. Custom shower niches provide a personalized touch in the shower and of course, the standout feature is the floor! The homeowners curated the fun design of fire clay tiles on the floor themselves and told the Skelly Build team how to lay it all out. We love what they came up with! The renovation of just two bathrooms really transformed the look and feel of this entire house! Have you been dreaming of a bathroom redo? What materials are your favorites?
