We recently got the chance to sit down with our amazing project manager, Carley Scott, to answer some questions about our new Facility Maintenance Services division at Skelly Build…
1. What are Facility Maintenance Services?
Facility Maintenance is a service that Skelly Build offers to building engineers, commercial buildings, and residential homeowners for needs or projects that are harder to find a general contractor to take on.
Skelly Build identified a need in the industry and wanted to create a space and a service to meet our client’s needs, no matter how big or small. Having a facility maintenance division at Skelly Build allows us to respond promptly to smaller jobs and needs that would normally take months of waiting behind bigger jobs on a general contractor’s list.
2. Do we offer facility services at all commercial buildings as well?
Yes! All buildings. We have already completed facilities maintenance work downtown at the Independent, Austonian, Proper, ByGeorge, Whole Foods offices, Zoe Tong, LAZ parking garages, etc.

3. What are some of the most commonly used services Skelly Build is asked to do or that we offer?

We commonly do tenant improvement, painting, and working with realtors to make a condominium move-in ready for showings or prior to move-in once it is sold. However, anything is possible!

4. How long does the work normally take?
.
It really depends on the scope of the project, but it can take anywhere from one day, one week to one month. Jobs that are on a larger scale usually finish within a quarter.

5. How does someone get started with hiring Skelly for FM? Do they get an estimate first? Sign a contract?
.
An interested party can send an inquiry here. Once they are connected with me, we will set up a site walk if necessary to look at the scope of work. Next, I will prepare a proposal of the agreed upon work and share it with them. Finally, if they decide to move forward, then they will sign the proposal and we will get the work on our schedule!
6. Is there anything else we should know about Facility Maintenance?

There is no job too small or big! Whatever the work entails, we are solution oriented and can make it happen. Skelly Build strives to make the work a seamless process that allows the client to receive our highest quality of communication and management throughout the facilities maintenance work, just as they would for a large renovation.
